TEFview

I keep trying to get to see tabs but my Norton does not allow TefView to load up. This only happens with Windows 10 as my Windows 7 PC has no problem at all.

So the problem appears to be between TefView and Windows 10 - any ideas?

I would say it is more a problem with Norton than with Windows 10. I have Windows 10 on my computer and both Tefview and Tabledit run fine. IMHO Norton is not worth a hoot! Heard way too many complaints about it, not only from users but computer techs as well.

I'm going to move your question to the Tab Forum. Perhaps the owner of the software will see the question and have an answer for you.

I was going to move it to the Tabledit Sticky at the top of this forum, but seems like I can't do that or don't know how. Anyway, this forum will probably get you more answers about Tabledit problems.

I use Windows 7 and have Norton and there's not a problem. Have you checked your security seeings to see if they're set too high and perhaps that might be the problem? With Windows 10, who knows, too many bugs for me to bother with it.

I went back to win 7 for compatibility performance. Win 10 is temperamental with too many third party programs. But yes, I would check all my Norton settings to see if anything is blocking Tabledit.

No problem with TEFView and Windows 10, but I don't use Norton.

I have Windows 10 and Norton, no problem here. Security setting would cause this, be bold and have a tinker ,

Thanks all of you - clearly it is a Norton problem - thankfully I left an old computer on Win 7 so I am not 'cut-off' from tabs - but many thanks for quick replies.

You can get offline and disable Norton while you install TablEdit or TEFview on your computer.

I recenly had a new computer made for me because my old one crashed. I said I wanted to stay with Window 7 so that's what they installed. When I tried to download TefView I had the same problem: Norton wouldn't let me. It took me a while to find where I could tell Norton to let me download TefView, but I finally did. Read the small print when it says it's a virus or unsafe and you'll eventually get to where you can say 'let me download it anyway'.

Hi Matthieu,

I just ignore Norton's death warning. It works just fine...I install new versions all the time and it works fine...happy Summer Matthieu...I still keep in touch with Larry Kuhns...Jack

I have Windows-10 (latest build of 1511) and run both TablEdit and TefView with no problems art all - including updating them whenever an update is provided by Matthieu. However, I do not use Norton - I use AVG Antivirus along with MalwareBytes and SpyBot S&D - clean the machine with Glary Utilities and CCleaner. Personally I would say reconsider your use of Norton but obviously this is down to each individual user.
