Speed of restoration of access to off-site backed-up data in the event of data loss in your production environment is a top priority in the architecture of Blaze Vault™.

Blaze Vault™ is a cloud-based, secure backup and restore solution for all your enterprise and endpoint data. It is based on Veeam technology and backed with Blaze Networks’ infrastructure and service desk team with years of experience in protecting and supporting customer critical workloads and data.

Ensure your data is backed up off-site and recoverable on your terms with various backup and granular recovery options.

Fast Recovery Time

Minimise the business cost of downtime with Instant VM Recovery using the ability to mount backups in Blaze Cloud™ for immediate access (rather than spending days or weeks to recover using legacy off-site backup solutions or waiting for physical replacement equipment to arrive).

Comprehensive coverage

Support for Microsoft, Linux, NAS and Microsoft 365 workloads.

Data in the UK

Once backed up, your cloud backup data is completely managed and stored in the UK on equipment owned and maintained by Blaze Networks.

Reliable Backups

Fully managed service to ensure your backup can be restored when needed. The Blaze technical team check each day to ensure backups are complete and without issues, automatically testing and verifying every backed-up VM for recoverability. Running the virtual machine directly from the backup file (no full VM restore is required), including support for custom application test scripts.

Governance & Compliance

Meet compliance requirements with Long Term Retention policies available following the industry standard trusted model of GFS, (Grandfather, father, son).

How to back up files

DR Functionality

If on-premise servers fail, then the last backup can be spooled up into Blaze Cloud and clients configured to access it whilst the on-premise server is fixed. This capability within the cloud backup solution reduces downtime and removes complexity from a company’s business continuity and disaster recovery procedures.

Cost-saving Secondary Replication

Cloud Connect Infrastructure is available for customers already using Veeam in their environment; use Blaze Vault as a secondary replication point without the costs of having to buy infrastructure in another location.

Fully Managed Cloud Backup

Blaze will fully manage all aspects of your cloud backup and recovery solution, with optional co-management for restore and for adds / changes to backed up entities.

Blaze Vault™ Functionality

Best of Breed Cloud Backup Technology

Blaze provide BlazeVault using industry-leading technology from one of our industry partners, Veeam. Veeam is rated as a global leader in this field by industry analysts Gartner (ref. Gartner Magic Quadrant for Data Centre Backup and Recovery Solutions, July 2020), as well as recognized by numerous awards including being named by CRN® to its 2020 Software-Defined Data Centre 50 list, citing Veeam as a software leader in backup and recovery, data protection and advanced monitoring in the data centre.

We have combined Veeam technology with our highly secure Blaze Cloud™ infrastructure to produce a highly dependable, secure, and resource-efficient solution which will keep downtime to an absolute minimum in the event of data loss in operational systems: BlazeVault™.

Keeping Operations Running

BlazeVault™ is designed to restore access to data extremely quickly, keeping the cost of downtime to an absolute minimum in the event of a problem. Drivers 3m.

The default Blaze Vault set-up backs up to primary storage (dedicated clusters) on Blaze Cloud. When access to backed-up data is needed, Blaze Vault mounts a copy of the backup on a dedicated cluster within Blaze Cloud and establishes a connectivity link to it. This enables an organisation to immediately re-commence using their data without the need for the backup to be restored back through the network onto an alternate platform provided by the customer.

All backup data is securely kept within the UK and is duplicated across separate clusters for added disaster protection.

Backup of Network Attached Storage (NAS)

Blaze Backup

Blaze Vault enables native backup and restore of NAS devices. The system is software based and hardware agnostic, able to backup SMB and NFS shares. The NAS feature is also able to backup SMB file shares hosted on Windows systems and NFS shares on Linux servers. NAS backup utilises change tracking, allowing incremental jobs to backup only what has changed.

Backblaze Software

Instant Recovery allows the immediate recovery of a VM by running it from the backup. VM Instant Recovery enhances performance by methods including caching to RAM and read ahead and multiple VM’s can be instantly recovered in a single operation.

Backup of Workstations / Laptops

While best practice is for end-user data to be kept in the cloud or on shared servers (and therefore be automatically covered by the server’s backup and restore protection), there are circumstances where this may not be the case.

Backup of data which is physically held on a workstation, laptop, or other device (for example POS registers and tills) is achieved via Agent software installed on each machine. For these non-server devices and datasets, Guest-level backup is performed at the file level.

Backup policies and scope can be configured to meet the organisation’s needs, but for workstations this would typically be daily or weekly and in the case of Windows devices include all files the Desktop and Documents folders. Restoring access to data which was on these devices will normally be achieved by downloading files back onto another device.

Blaze Vault is Dependable, Rapid, and Cost-Effective

Blaze Vault has been designed as a highly cost-effective cloud backup and recovery solution, providing an extremely high level of security and data protection. The solution combines Veeam’s industry-leading virtual, physical, and cloud data management software, Blaze’s secure network and cloud infrastructure, and continuous management, monitoring, and recovery action by the Blaze Service Desk. In so doing, Blaze Vault™ enables businesses to mitigate against the risk of data loss and minimise any interruption to operations in a highly cost-effective and secure way with a minimum of IT management overhead.
